We are starting a new exciting cricket academy camp in the summer of 2024. The camp is aimed at 5-11 year olds for children new cricket and those who have played a little before and wish to progress and improve their cricketing skills. The course will be softball only.

The camps are for both boys and girls. Coaching will be provided in all key skills areas, and will include (as appropriate for the age and ability of participant):

• Batting: grip and stance, selection of shots
• Bowling: run up, action, seam bowling, spin bowling
• Fielding, throwing, catching

Each day will include a match-like scenario to enable participants to put what they have learned into practice. The programme for each session will be designed to meet the needs of the course participants.

At the beginning of each session participants will be grouped according to experience. Coaching will be led by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) level 2 qualified coaches (or equivalent).

Coaches carry full DBS checks, and have attended courses in first aid and child protection, and are accomplished cricketers. The coaching team at Oxford CC has great experience and many young players have gone on to play county, district, and even professional cricket.
Coach to player ratio will strictly follow ECB guidelines.

Oxford CC is an ECB focus club, has Cubmark Status, and adopts the ECB Safehands and Child protection policies. All our courses place a strong emphasis on physical fitness, injury prevention and technical development. Each player will be given suitable programmes of exercise specifically tailored to cricket related fitness.

Attendees need to wear appropriate sporting clothing and footwear. As well as a hat, sun cream, rain jacket etc depending on weather. Finally, they need to bring lunch, snacks, and plenty of drinks.
